Journey 2 Learn has developed a model to provide children living with autism who require substantial and/or very substantial support the option to be able to succeed in a mainstream classroom together with neurotypical children. This service is for children with autism commencing school between the ages of 5 – 8 years old, who require substantial or very substantial support. We provide the necessary educational, socio-emotional, and behavioural support they require to succeed in a mainstream school environment.
Our centre was built to provide a transition space for the child, parents and allied health to work collaboratively to prepare the child to succeed in mainstream school. Our Centre was built to be a safe environment with all the resources needed to support the child to be prepared for school.
After completing our school readiness program at the centre, each child receives the following services depending on their needs:
